Founded in September 2009 in Surabaya, East Java, Art Xchange Gallery was created as a space to showcase the diversity of modern and contemporary artists from Indonesia. After two years in Indonesia, Art Xchange established its second gallery in Singapore in March 2011. The inaugural exhibition, “[d?'v??s?ti]”, showcased a diversity of artists and mediums.

This new venue was conceived to encourage creative exchange between regional and international artists. Its mission is to bring artworks from different societies together so that parallels and contrasts can be observed, and artists who challenge precedents can have a voice. The gallery currently represents artists from Singapore, Indonesia, Ukraine and Canada, and will continue to expand into other countries. Art Xchange Gallery hopes to provide “a window to the soul, where passion meets creativity”.
