Born in Tegal, Central Java Indonesia on 1st March 1977, Dedi Imawan studied art at the prestigious Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) in Yogyakarta. He has always been intrigued by Surrealism and Impressionism, which very much influence his artwork style.
Dedi was active as an artist in the early stages of his life. However due to unforeseen circumstances, he was forced to leave the art scene and became a farmer for almost 8 years. In 2018, he made a comeback and participated for the first time with Art Xchange Gallery at Art Expo Malaysia. Now Dedi has gained back his passion and he gives life a chance as an artist once again . Married to a fellow schoolmate, Budi Asih, they both work and live in Sidikan, Yogyakarta.
